A Few Tips on Your Hot Tub Installation
Want a hot tub for your home? Hot tub installation may sound really easy but its not and please do follow these tips for getting your hot tub installed properly.
Hot tub base- Please decide the exact base you will require before you install your hot tub. The base you select should be able to support the weight of the hot tub after installation along with the water it will contain and the people sitting in it. Consult a good structural engineer if you aren’t very sure about how to construct a base. If the base cannot take up the load of the filled water tub then the tub can shift and settle resulting in cracks. These are not covered in the warranty and you will have to bear the damage out of your own pocket.
Power requirements- are really important for the hot tub to work. Find out whether your tub works on the 110V or 220V electricity. You will get this information on the instruction manual or even on the heater control box located under the tub. A few control boxes will switch between 110V and 220V and some may not. Find out which one you will need for your hot tub.
Connect your tub to the home mains and then use additional grounding as well as insulation to protect against external elements like water and lightning. If you are not sure of this process don’t attempt it. Most people get an electrician to do the job well .A qualified electrician can get you an uninterrupted safe power supply, which is run through a Residual Current Device (RCD), or even a circuit breaker, located at least three meters away form the hot tub. Make sure you request armored wires to protect against external elements. Get a non-softened water supply and drain handy to fill and empty the hot tub.
