Bow Tattoos & Meanings

With the ever growing popularity of tattoos, the social stigma is lifting & has become a personal style & especially for women.  Tattoos are often seen as an art expression or form from the one making the chosen inked selection. With the growing trend, availability of design choices and detailed inking is ever growing too. 

The style designs have progressed too and diverse from the old school tatts to tribal, half & full sleeve to Chinese lettering to name a few. reflecting more the personal taste & personality. Through out fashion history , women’s clothes have often been adorned with bows being head to toes placements, as a fashion  statement.  From bows tied in hair hair, placed on or printed on clothing, shoes & handbags.  It seems a natural progression that they would become a an inked choice of femininity .

Pink bows and ribbons are worn in support of cancer patients or cancer survivors or loved ones who have sadly lost their battle.

Often, bows are seen on cartoon characters attire to add a visual confirmation of femininity or a female.  Bows are being added to tattoos that were once considered more masculine, like skulls, for a feminine touch . The bow tie is a formal wear icon.  Bows are also used when wrapping a present , visually representing to the receiver that it is a gift.

Bows are a fun, powerful and meaningful way of stating your own personal message.  If considering getting a tattoo, it’s best to do research BEFORE & realize that it’s a life time permanent commitment and will become part of your personal statement to the world.
