Cambodian people have still maintained its tradition wedding ceremony. Holding wedding party has different three ceremonies for the bride and groom. According to Khmer traditional costumes, there are three separate ceremonies that Cambodian wedding dress are used for bride and groom.

The dowry is ceremony that is presented to the bride and bride’s family and relatives. During this time, bride’s family accepts the formal offer of matrimony. In the ceremony, bride and groom offer a cup of tea to the both side of their parents, old relatives and ancestors. Traditionally, bride gets dressed in a casual, brightly colored clothes in blues and purples in order to greet the groom.

Preparing hair-cutting ceremony is for a married couple to cut bride and groom’s hair. During this ceremony, wedding clothes that are for bride and groom are a gold and silver loose-fitting silk shirt and pants. The color of the gold and silver is used for presenting the gold and silver wedding bands.

The final ceremony is the pairing ceremony of couple’s wedding. At the time, bride and groom is like the king because the bride’s hahen is red and gold, including heavily embellished with jewels, and the groom are dressed a coordinated red and gold silk shirt and pants. Married family’s members and wedding guests participate in tying red strings around the bride and groom’s the right wrists and offer blessing for good health and happiness to the couple.
