Bonding in a boat – family trips out in the best the outdoors offers

When you’ve got kids you’ll know know how unsettled they get. My own definitely do. Young children seem to need a great deal of free space to run around in and tire themselves out a bit. Somewhere that fits the bill the outstanding New Forest.

Youngsters really enjoy the New Forest. I visited several times when I was a kid, going for walks, riding a bike and generally messing about. It is easy to walk for mile after mile inside the spectacular Forest. And there is so much to look at that you simply don’t ever get bored – ranging from the beautiful woodland sections to endeavoring to see the several types of snake living within the Forest, there’s a lot for youngsters to do.

There are also well organized things to do for teenagers. Why don’t you consider a canoeing expedition all along the Beaulieu River? The whole family can jump into a 3-seater canoe or kayak and it can be a lovely way for you to see the Forest up close.

For individuals that aren’t keen on the idea of getting wet, another option is archery within the Beaulieu Estate. It’s a sport that continues to be exciting for more than 8,000 years. You’ll learn a new skill and enjoy yourself at the same time. Because of their eye for a target, it’s likely that your kids might beat you – don’t be too surprised.

And you can combine it with a trip to the legendary Beaulieu Motor Museum and theme park And if you can’t choose between kayaking and archery, fret not! – it’s very easy to combine both. It’s easy to raft down the river to Beaulieu, try out an archery session and if you’re feeling lively, you can cycle back to your starting point!

So, the Forest provides a whole host of enjoyable activities to do on your day out with all the kids.

In many ways the Hang, and HandPan are generally thought of as being quite intuitive instruments. And at least part of their popularity stems from the fact that even those with no musical experience, or training, can pick one up, and start making some pretty nice sounds, with little to no guidance whatsoever. And in my own personal experience, this tends to become true, just as soon as the novice player has mastered ‘the touch’ – a strike that is often described as being like ‘checking a stove to see if it is hot’, i.e. fast, and gentle.

However, with this said, my own playing has improved massively, from watching and paying closer than usual attention to others playing HandPan on YouTube and the like, and especially, from watching videos specifically intended to tutor in HandPan playing technique.

There are now a growing number of HandPan tutorial videos to be found online. Instructing in everything from building, and combining simple rhythms, and melodies. Through to more unusual HandPan tips, and tricks, such as how to ‘Sing the Ding’. You can find a selection of free online lessons, by following this link.

Alternatively, and/or should you have exhausted the free resources mentioned within the above linked to post. There are also a growing number of more comprehensive instructional DVDs available for purchase online. These will take you from the very basics of learning to play the Hang drum / HandPan, on to and through, a selection of more advanced techniques that are guaranteed to add a whole new dimension to your playing. More information can be found via this link.

And finally, should you prefer a more one-on-one approach, from somebody already gifted in the art of making steel sing sweetly, some players are known to offer lessons, both online, via SKYPE and such (such as those offered by Colin Foulke), or in person (such as those offered by Simon Wood).

She’s going to get married to her Prince charming and begin a new life alongside him. She would like to dress up as beautiful as she can and really wants to carry out all kinds of things that’s related with becoming a bride. The most crucial function which needs to be thoroughly looked after would eventually be the wedding gown as well as the jewelry that she is going to put on on the lady’s wedding day. Yet there are various other items which could seriously make the celebration a wonderful one. One of the popular vital features of the bride are the bridal bouquet.

It really is significant to select the right mix of blossoms for your silk wedding bouquets. Each and every bride wants to walk down the church aisle with beauty and confidence which she has thought of for a long time. It truly is the wish of every single bride to look as best as she can be, on her special day. The best kinds of bouquets would be the white rose bouquets. Yet much more individuals are messing around with the gradation of the blooms, and lots of men and women prefer the blooms to be mild pink or even red or deep ivory, depending on their preferences. Furthermore, it’s not necessarily crucial that your bouquet only contains blossoms of just one single type. You could have a bouquet just for you which are a combination of several flowers of various colors and also sizes.

All white bridal bouquets are loved by the brides since in the past. Most types of flowers can be bought in white, hence if you choose white bridal bouquet it’s possible you have the option of different kinds of blossoms. Another well-known type of bridal bouquet will likely be the nosegay sort of bouquets. Inside it little or no greenery is seen, also, the flowers are usually placed in the style of a cluster that are round and small, and which might be re-cut into a standard size in elegant way. They’re created using only one kind of blossom or even hue, plus they are twisted solidly with satin ribbon.

Another common form of wedding bouquet is the beidermeier type of bouquet. The major distinction with the nosegay kind would be the fact that bouquet is formed of concentric circles of assorted types of flowers. They’re just like the nosegay yet provide for the mixture of several types of blossoms. A different favorite kind of wedding bouquet would include the cascade type. Most are created using any type of bloom, but typically the most popular kind of flower found in the cascade types would definitely be the roses and also lilies. The cascade form of bridal bouquet is adorned in such manner that they create an effect like a waterfall. Hand tied wedding bouquets and also Arm bouquets are some other famous kinds of the wedding bouquets. Even so the thing very common to all of them would eventually be the beauty as well as femininity matching with a new bride.

While in the beginning it was all about the Swiss-made ‘HandPan’, the ‘PANArt Hang’, these days there are an ever increasing number of instruments being formed by makers the world over. From the German ‘Caisa’, to the BElls, born of Spain. And America is not without its makers. In fact the U.S., plays home to a growing number of respected HandPan manufacturers. Meaning that whether you’re looking for a U.S. made HandPan to ‘Buy American!’, or simply hoping to save on shipping fees, and import taxes, there are a number of HandPan options for you to explore. Three of which, we’ll direct you towards within this post.

The Halo

Built by ‘Pantheon Steel’, the Halo is a highly sought after American-made HandPan, and was one of the first to follow in the wake of the PANArt Hang. Larger than the Hang, and with first generation Halo having a significantly deeper voice, Halo are counted by HandPan enthusiasts among the ‘top-tier’ HandPan (i.e. the best). And as such, with only a few hundred being built each year, prices for Halo sold within the secondhand market frequently sell for prices of $4000 upwards. MORE INFORMATION

The Genesis

Built by ‘Dave Beery’, of ‘Dave’s Island Instruments’, the Genesis (and the ‘Genesis Symphonette’) are another American-made HandPan option. A rising star in the world of HandPan, the Genesis is (at time of writing) available in two sizes, the larger 55-Gallon steel drum sized Genesis (standard), and the smaller, more travel-friendly Genesis Symphonette. MORE INFORMATION

The TerraPanz

Our final offering in the form of HandPan made in the U.S. are the ‘TerraPanz’, HandPan being built by American purveyors of spiritual instruments, ‘TerraTonz’, who also produce some pretty sweet steel tongue drum. New to the ‘scene’, at time of writing (in fact they’ve not even yet officially been offered for sale), the TerraTonz crew are believed to have been ‘schooled’ at ‘Mannete Steel Drums’, the home of ‘Ellie Mannette’, a man often considered to be the father of steel pan’. MORE INFORMATION

HandPan are steel, UFO shaped, hand-played relatives of the Steel Pan (often known as Steel drums), of Trinidad and Tobago. The first HandPan (though the makers themselves, PANArt, do not call their creation a ‘HandPan’), was the ‘PANArt Hang’, more commonly known as the ‘Hang Drum’. A resonant vessel that while sharing qualities with the Steel Pan, has a sound that is often remarked of as sounding more harp-like, or bell-like.

The Demand for PANArt Hang

The PANArt Hang (created by ‘Felix’, and ‘Sabina’, became hugely popular in the few short years following its creation in 2000. Primarily due to YouTube videos, and the sharing of via social networks. Which, unfortunately, due to the handmade nature of the Hang, and there being only two Hang-makers in the world. Led to it becoming virtually impossible to acquire a Hang.

The Birth of HandPan

With demand far exceeding supply, it was inevitable that other makers would appear, with their own ‘Hang-inspired’ creations. And one-by-one they have. Drawn by both love, money, or both. First came the Caisa, the BElls, and the Halo. Next the Spacedrum, the Bali Steel, the Disco, and the SPB. So that now you, dear reader, if you’re just beginning in your search for a HandPan. Have something of an advantage over those just a few short years back. With an ever increasing selection of HandPan being made available to choose from.

Four German-Made Hang Drum Alternatives

If you’re located in, or near to, Germany, and you’re looking to get yourself a PANArt Hang drum alternative, without having to spend too much on shipping costs. Here are a few Hang drum-like instruments for your consideration, that are produced within Germany’s borders.

The Caisa HandPan

Produced by ‘Bill Brown’ and ‘Kaisos Steel Drums’, the Caisa, is arguably the most popular German-made HandPan, and Hang drum alternative. Resembling the PANArt Hang in appearance, and playing style, but with a sound a little closer to the traditional steel pans of Trinidad and Tobago. The Caisa, has proven to be a popular instrument, with those who have been unable to obtain a Hang, and with those who have been drawn to the sound of the Caisa, under its own merits. And the Caisa sells for the price of around 900 Euros. The Caisa

The SunPAN

The latest addition to the German-made family of HandPan instruments, is the ‘SunPAN’. A HandPan instrument formed from a stainless steel playing surface, and a perforated underside. Still something of a work in progress, the SunPAN has a very ‘homemade’ look at present. But as research, and development continues, the SunPAN seems set to establish itself as a real player in the Hang drum alternative marketplace. By far the cheapest member of the HandPan family (at the time of writing), the SunPAN is currently selling for around the 200 Euro mark. Although this is likely to rise as the instrument evolves, and becomes more established. The SunPAN

The Sphaira

Not a HandPan, but a steel tongue drum, the ‘Sphaira’, produced by ‘pronaam’, is (in my opinion) one of the best Hank-style drums currently available for purchase. Similar in size to a HandPan, the Sphaira features nine precisely tuned tongues, that can be played with the palms/fingers, or with mallets. And is made from stainless steel. The Sphaira (at time of writing), can be bought for the price of roughly 250 Euros. And it has a sound that is sure to please. The Sphaira

The Klangauge

Another German-made Hank style drum, the Klangauge, also known as the ‘Sound Eye’, is an eight note steel tongue drum, tuned to a pentatonic scale. That has been described as being the younger brother of the ‘HAPI drum’. The Klangauge, is currently into its third generation. And sells for around the 380 Euro mark. And has proven popular with musicians both beginner, and professional, alike. The Klanguage
