This broadening of the markets and wider access to the internet around the world means today millions of people are playing the game.

Since laptop computers are popular these days cases for them are too. People want to find a stylish and durable laptop bags for their notebooks. Even those stiff dull corporate typesFunky laptop cases that love to wear plain old suits are beginning to open up to the lively colors of today’s fashions and styles.

A funky laptop bag is very attractive and lively because of the colors, style and design that the talented designers have worked to produce. Today buying a laptop bag is not only for your laptop’s protection but also for fashion, meaning you also have to choose a design that suits you.

There are varieties of funky designed laptop bags which you can choose from. If you still have a lot of money to spend you can buy at least 3 laptop bags for each occasion. For the rest of you trying to save some cash here is some advice.

Before anything else decide what style, designs and colors you like. In choosing a color you have to take note that you’re going to have only one bag for your laptop. So make sure if you buy a bag it matches at least more than half your clothes.

Style is also important since many people who buy laptop cases buy ones that Funky laptop cases matches their style and their personality. It’s their way of expressing themselves, in your case you will be the one to decide what your style will be it may reflect your personality or not as long as you like it and you’re happy with it then buy it. The design must suit your tastes too, but if you want it to be personalized you could always buy a plain colored laptop bag and design it yourself.

Searching for cheap funky laptop can be done in one of two ways; online or offline. With online shopping you can shop hassle free since you only need your laptop computer and an internet connection. You can find great deals on laptop bags from a bunch of web based stores.

While shopping in your local store might take some time, but you can touch and scrutinize it with both your hands and eyes. Also when you’re shopping offline when it is time to buy the laptop bag, you can bring you laptop along with you to check that it fits.

Check the qualities of the bag to see if it is durable enough as well as stylish enough. Also, see if you’re OK with its weight.

Keep in mind that the durability and quality of the any potential bag are also importantFunky laptop cases points to consider. Make sure that you buy from a trusted site or store as avoid any complications afterwards.

Absolutely all lottery winners have one thing in common. Can you guess what it is?

Perhaps your guess might be that they’re rich. That would not be incorrect. Not all lottery winners are rich. In fact, some of them are just plain broke. Some of them are even worse off financially then they were prior to winning. Don’t believe me? Here’s an example then: The single biggest lottery winner ever was a man named Andrew Jackson Whittaker Jr. He won a whopping $315 million Powerball jackpot in December of 2002. Prior to winning, he was a successful business man. But when he won, he just went crazy. He ended up blowing all of the money that he won. He is, by no means, rich.

What, then, do all lottery winner have in common? They all bought tickets. Think about that – If they forgot to buy a lottery ticket for that very jackpot that they won, they would not have won. Had they missed the draw, they would have been none the wiser that they would have won.

Have you ever forgot to buy your lotto ticket? Do you ever wonder if you would have won on a draw that you didn’t play? Perhaps, but you’ll never know.

What does all this mean? Don’t forget to buy your ticket because you gotta be in it to win it!

My warlock Slobberknokr used to have a really rough time soloing, not just in dungeons, but pretty much anywhere.

But once I remembered to re-spend all my talent points when the 3.1.0 patch came out, my new talents weren’t bad at all. When every point was reallocated, I discovered I had 3 talent points to spare.

And by the time I got to Level 52 and made one small adjustment, I realized I had one great series of combos going.

Before you get developing your character for power life gain, you will need a few prerequisites.

The most important will be the Herbalism profession. Not only can you strengthen the effects of your healing potions with Mixology, but Lifeblood is an awesome resource with Lifetap. As long as you don’t redline your health in a fight, chances are good you can pull the extra mana you need, then deal damage and recover your invested health. And once Dark Pact starts kicking in mana with no life loss, that extra Lifeblood will help you win all but the most uneven of drawn-out matchups.

The second requirement is a Felhunter, obtained through a series of quests starting in Ratchet. (To keep you from pulling your hair out, they’re called Mana Eaters in Mannoroc Coven, for when you need to defeat one and capture its essence.) When you first get one, you may be put off by its offense and defense, which are lower than a Voidwalker’s. But as time goes by, the Felhunter will develop a synergy with you that includes heightened intelligence, damage based on the number of afflictions you throw on a target (Shadow Bite), feeding you easily regenerated mana, and healing you.

To get healing from your pet, you need to use a Glyph of Felhunter. While these Glyphs are often pricey for a mid-level character in the Auction House, you will see the results in many a fight against spellcasters, and be able to focus more on extra damage instead of just draining life to stay alive. And a Glyph of Siphon Life makes another excellent insurance policy.

Last of all, you will need to focus on heavy spell power increases. Since you are doing smaller amounts of damage over time, giving each tick of damage a bonus makes for a bigger overall effect. Don’t give up on your Spirit and Intelligence buffs, but let your Felhunter take care of a good part of your Intelligence requirements.

While you build this tree up, you will need to alternate between Voidwalker and Felhunter. There is very little Demonology in the setup, so your pets are working with very basic power levels. Voidwalker’s Torment and Suffering abilities are key for taking the heat off you when you’re in over your head, and Felhunter can handle regular fights and spellcasters better and better as your tree progresses. The basic Succubus is awful and about as menacing as a paper airplane so I never use it.

The key parts of this setup are maxed-out Corruptions, Siphon LIfe, Fel Synergy, Glyph of Felhunter and Dark Pact. Here’s how it all works branch by branch:

Row 1 has 10 points in Affliction (maxed out), 1 in Demonology, and 7 in Destruction (4 Improved Shadow Bolt, and 3 in Bane for more burn spells fired per combat). The goal of this tree is to finish fights as adaptively as possible and to do that fights need to be ended ASAP. One of the cornerstones of this setup is Fel Synergy. Even with a single talent point, you get a 50-50 chance to heal your pet for 15% of all spell damage you do. With damage over time and several sources, it smooths out your pet’s life recovery reliably. Best of all, mass damage on more monsters at a time heals the Felhunter all the better. See below for some extra survival tips.

Row 2 is just enough to keep you alive until your Row 3 talents: 1 point in Improved Curse of Weakness (which now reduces armor too), 2 in Improved Lifetap as an inefficient but handy source of mana until you can reach Dark Pact in Row 7. No skills in Demonology, 2% damage reduction and 4% cheaper spells in Destruction.

Row 3 ignores Fear, which I think is one of the weakest spells in the game (controversy anyone?). Fel Concentration helps keep your drains from getting interrupted too soon, and Amplify Curse speeds up your Curse of Agony, a vital source of damage over time. Again, there are no points in either Demonology or Destruction from here down: it’s pure Affliction and I made sure that all further Affliction talents were related to life gain, damage increases, and buffing up Intelligence.

Row 4 ignores the very tempting Grim Reach and the sometimes handy (but unpredictable) Nightfall. One chance out of 50 to fire a free Shadow Bolt just isn’t worth it, so I didn’t wait a level to spend a second point there either. It’s all in Empowered Corruption, which ups damage dealt with it by 36% of my spell power. Again, this is where wearing a lot of equipment with spell power boosts really helps.

Row 5′s most important improvement is in Siphon Life: it turns Corruption into an extra lower-efficiency Drain Life. And since Drain Life is shadow damage, Shadow Embrace (and, later, Shadow Mastery), is a good way to up the damage while keeping enemy healing down. I spent 4 points out of a possible 5.

Row 6 rewards you and the Felhunter with extra Fel Intelligence and mana gain on a Shadow Bite hit. With Dark Pact, this helps the both of you out. Shadow Mastery increases damage dealt or life gained by shadow spells by 15% when maxed out, which in turn keeps your pet constantly healing for big amounts.

By the time you get to Row 7, it’s 2 points in Contagion to up your pet-healing Corruption by yet another 2%, compounding damage dealt with other bonuses.

Once I hit levels 52 and 53, the game actually started getting easy! Most of my combats consisted of Curse of Agony, Corruption, Immolate, Shadow Bolt, Drain Life, Drain Life, and then more quick DoT or another Drain as time permitted. Often I would be able to finish with a Dark Pact and end up at 90% or above for life and mana. I may be adding another point in Fel Concentration to reduce the mana I have to re-spend on interrupted channeling drains.

This setup requires a few changes in your fighting style. When you fight large crowds, keeping your Felhunter alive, not you, is the most important thing to do. With its healing Shadow Bite, extra offense, intelligence boost and tappable mana reserve, all it asks is that you keep feeding it life. To do this, I don’t focus on just one enemy, but instead I throw as many damage over time effects in a ring around the enemies. For example, if I’m fighting three Un’Goro Apes, I’ll throw a Corruption on each of them, then a Curse of Agony each, and an Immolation. With the life gain coming from 9 of these spells, it’s plenty to keep the Felhunter going, even without Shadow Bite. At that point I’ll be able to get extra drain for each affliction on one target thanks to Soul Siphon. Anyway, once you get this tree fully set up, you’ll have more life than you know what to do with, so don’t be afraid to drop part of your own life gain to help out your pet. If all else fails, and you’re peeking between fingers with 100% health, give your Felhunter all the life it needs with a repeated Health Funnel, then drain to catch yourself up (and of course heal your beast more).

So I hope this helps, especially if a patch resets your talents and you’re thinking of respecializing. It may take a lot of setup to get going, but if you’ve got a character you want to build this way, it could easily become a WoW way of… life.

Integer: A number, positive or negative, with no decimals in it (1,2,3,4, etc).

integer a=5;

integer a;

Float: A number with a decimal and zeroes.

float b=2.434;

String: A series of letters, numbers and symbols, defined between quotes.

string quote=”4377SgfggA9090$)($*$(AAAA”

string quote;

Vector: a set of 3 floats, usually used to represent 3-D position or movement.

vector jozie=<1.434,53,30>;

vector jozie;

Rotation: a set of four floats, an X,Y,Z and S, which represent an object’s rotation. This set is called a Quaternion. In order to convert an actual rotation to a quaternion, we will use a small snippet of code later.

rotation spinz=<0,0,.42,1>;

rotation spinz;

Key: also known as a UUID, a key is the unique identifier for every single inventory item and rezzed object in SL, from sounds to scripts to avatars. It is defined in quotes but is NOT a string and unless converted to a string with (string) will produce syntax errors when you try to llSay it, etc.

key zooper=”604318a6-88e4-4a05-a128-5bb166e10206″

key zooper;

List: a collection of variables of any kind except lists. Variables are listed inside a pair or brackets and separated with commas. Each entry has its own type so you can mix and match.

list applelist=["hello",-1,4.444,<1.3,4,6>,<-1,.3,0,1>];

Scripting can be one of the most rewarding, but most elusive ways to make money in Second Life. Complex scripts used to cause more lag, but now with the option to compile in Mono, more complex scripts can be used while you learn to script efficiently.

This series of posts will show you how to avoid syntax errors that bring your would-be scripts to a halt, and properly organize your scripts so they can be easily debugged.

Part 1: Scripting overview.

To open an LSL script, it has to be one you made, or one you own that has modify permissions.

To access a script, either find it in your inventory and double-click it, or right click an object, choose Edit, go to Contents in the five tabs, and double-click.

LSL, Linden Scripting Language, reminds me a lot of PHP. It is organized on the following areas:

_____________________________

Variables & Functions

______________________________

Main area

default {

(States go here)

touch_start(integer a) { Instructions    }

(end bracket for default state) —>  }

______________________________

Variables are what you can use to hold data for your scripts: names, numbers, information, UUIDs (keys), lists, and so on. Before you use a variable in the main section of the script, you have to tell the script you want to use that variable by declaring it.

Stay tuned for a discussion of variables!

When I made it to Second Life as a funny-haired, doe-eyed avatar with a bare-bones inventory, no friends, no land, no vending tech, no links, and no products, getting products set up and developed was a horrible waste of time with very low rates of return. My avatar doesn’t look much better, but with time invested, the cash flow is finally coming.

So here are five ways I learned to do it…

1. Band and back up your inventory. After a while, your projects will begin to borrow from each other. That shouldn’t be a bad thing by any means! Many of my scripts have the same base plan of attack, especially with notecard reading, which works in anything from a blog reader to a gun kit script. Determine what your key scripting, building and texture assets are, and make them the cornerstones of several projects while keeping the projects themselves rich and varied. And save every change you make! If you have a script in an item that you keep saving back to inventory, be sure to make backups every few changes using Take Copy. Saving a faulty version over your only good inventory item, a slip of the LSL editor, or accidental object destruction of your original (temporary, llDie, etc) can make you miserable and knock you back anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on how far back you saved your progress.

Also, make sure you know what your key items are named. If you have to dig through 100 items all called Object, each with your key intellectual property in it, you’re in for a world of wasted time.

2. Start a blog or website. Paying the SL online marketplaces may make you residual income, but you’re posting your links on their forums so they can do one thing – serve ads above your threads. Not only that, but they charge you to advertise, and then ding you for the final sale cost! Post regularly, post quality, and don’t ease up, and your blog will get you income too, through several streams of income, not just your products! If you need to learn how to blog right, http://problogger.net will give you huge insights for free, and their book is invaluable. It’s a lot to digest at once, so take your notes and organize the exercises and to-dos from those notes. Once you’re done, you will have a multi-page plan of attack to establish your own Second Life blog space.

3. Outsource, Part II. I have a RL virtual assistant named Nalinka. She’s awesome and with the time she saves me on my job, I’m able to put that time into Second Life. A few hours spent in SL causes a ripple effect over the next year, and believe me, it does pay off. I outsourced a cruddy spreadsheet job ($16) and spent the time doing a sorely needed scripting job for a vehicle builder who got sidelined while SL wasn’t running scripts right. I made L$1000 as thanks (a little over $3.00), set up a demo box and ad for a kit (L$3000 per sale, a little over $10), set up another kit for L$2000, updated another project at three store locations, blogged an entry for a friend who needed to raise money, placed some more ads, and joined a Ning group that could be perfectly served by one of my products. Even if you don’t have $6-$8 an hour to outsource your RL job, you can have people do odious tasks for you in-world for cheaper rates. You’d be surprised what L$1000 to L$1500 can get you from intelligent but ill-used people who are used to running their computers for L$20 an hour to build someone else’s traffic rankings! Not everyone in SL is from the US and you can make mutually beneficial service arrangements.

4. Demo remotely. Do good things for your friends and often they will ask what they can do to help in return, or offer you some sort of space on their land. Don’t push, but if you are offered a chance to promote yourself, don’t be shy and say what would help you best, given what you can work with. Don’t expect it to go on forever unrewarded, but once you get set up, try what you can to keep helping your friends, with effective things that cost little or no time and money. Invite them to your business groups. Put their landmarks in your products (after all, your stuff is on their land, right?). Mention them when other people need their products and services. Show them you have an active role in their welfare without pounding your chest about it and the side benefits will keep accruing.

5. Use network tech. Don’t spend your whole day teleporting from store to store twiddling this and gambling for the asset servers to let you change that. Invest in a good networked vending system that lets you send out your product and product information to everyone everywhere. Bonus points if you can hand out your networked tech like candy for free to affiliate sellers and people who want news, entertainment and variety on their own land. Look for other networked systems, not just vendors, that can get secondary messages out to your stores, locations and friends cheaply. For example, you can announce events and so forth with your blog terminals at each location without clicking “teleport” a single time! Last of all, if you can’t or don’t want to invest in networks, you can always learn to build your own from scratch.

Saving time shouldn’t take time. Instead, just focus on what you need to make more money per hour in SL, and outsource or drop the rest. The longer you obsess over details, the larger the opportunities that pass you by!

You’ve got to work in a product upgrade, a medium blog entry, an event, an uploading session, and training for one of your employees. How in Philip Linden’s name are you supposed to get it all done with a constant bombardment of IMs, eye candy, restlessness and lag?

It can be done, with the right combination of patience, selective apathy, and prioritization.

Here’s how.

1. Just Say No. And If You Can’t, Turn Invisible and Unreachable.

You are not the only expert in your field in all of SL. You know that, but sometimes your customers don’t. They fawn. They grovel. They beg, plead, whine, threaten to stop buying from you.

If you’re a nice person who’s overwhelmed with support requests and IMs from people who are really just looking for someone to talk to, here are three steps you can follow, in ascending order of severity:

   A. Ignore. If you absolutely need Busy Mode off (and really, it’s better that you have it on when you really need it), have a standard message you can copy and paste. Make it polite, but firm: “I really can’t talk right now. Leave me a notecard if you really are having problems and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible”, for example.

B. Disappear. Except for the fact that IMs still show up, begging you to open them, Busy Mode is a godsend for getting things done. But it won’t work if you cave every time the IM Received button pops up. Let several messages pile up. You won’t see that button flash or anything if you get several messages. It will wait patiently for you to finish the most important things you have.

C. Mute. Some people just don’t value your time so they try to walk all over it. These people can’t be turned away without a lot more time. So mute them, either temporarily or permanently, depending on how much time they cost you versus the money they pay you.

2. Minimize. Shut down your web browser. Stop reading email that keeps popping up. Turn off music. STOP LOOKING AT THOSE ATTENTION-GRABBING HEADLINES. They only want you to click something that pays them. The world won’t die if you want to cluster your tasks into blocks to cut out blocks of fluff time.

3. Organize. At the start of your SL session, organize a to-do notecard with what you need done, and erase each thing as it is accomplished. Keep the notecard in case you get an idea or someone asks you to do something. Jot down your idea or get their contact information, and then get back to work.

4. Prioritize. I learned in management class that the list of goals you set for yourself should never be exhaustive. Set a reasonable amount of things to do, and then of those, knock out the things you know you absolutely need to do first. If you have some stragglers left at the end of your work time, don’t worry about them. Notify customers and others if you have to, but set the final decision to focus on something else, even if it’s just getting something to eat. Work to live, and take breaks. You’ll be more productive with a chance to clear your head.

5. Outsource. Your goal in SL is to make your time worth more and more. Decisions you make should compound on one another to make you more and wider opportunities while allowing you a chance to make more money per average day. If you don’t have much money to pay someone, find a way to compensate them. Offer store space, or some business tools, or advertise for them. Make them happy to help you, but get the most important thing, extra time, out of the arrangement.

Second Life, because it is a dynamic environment, can be massively distracting. Enter each SL session with a plan, turn off the shiny things that grab your attention, and what’s left should be productive time. This blog entry took me 24 minutes to write. Before, when I used to check my email while blogging, I’d curse myself trying to get to bed while looking at all the emails on my ad-supported ISP. No more. Just be focused, turn off the known distractions, and your lost productivity will be waiting for you.

In Second Life, you can sell your cheapest non-free items for L$1 — not even half a penny — but don’t let that stop you from believing that every sale and every customer’s comment(s) should be listened to, if not acted on, as soon as possible.

If you’re lucky, people will give you feedback. Only one out of several buyers takes the time to complain. There are different ways you can respond:

Don’t act. Some things in a product design are trivial: textures, color, sounds, or scripting, depending on what you actually sell. A badly spelled script thanking the customer, that goes with a box of beautiful textures, may not be as big a problem as a destructible house that crashes a sim every time someone blows it up. If your item sells for a low, low price, don’t lose sleep over the auxiliary details, but do try to at least fix glaring flaws once a month or so. More important is how your product interacts with the buyer. Lag generation, excessive complexity, unnecessary steps, sloppy scripting, underperformance, and cryptic documentation may be big problems your customer is telling you about, so if you ignore these latter problems, you may be setting yourself up for some bad word-of-mouth and your sales may not increase as you would like.

Tinker. If you have time, and your item’s permissions don’t allow the customer to change things around, it may or may not be worth it to make small changes for a buyer or two. But you may want to add copy and/or modify permissions to your objects (no mod for most scripts is still recommended), so as to keep low-level customer customization requests off your plate.

Upgrade, streamline, improve. As for the more serious issues, unless they are impossible to do so they please more people, go for a fix. Many times a customer will be telling you what the market at large wants, so it’s in your best interests to add what in-demand features you can. Even if the request seems unusual, make a copy of the new version, label it accordingly, and set it for sale or set it aside for further research and development.

And if the request seems difficult, give it a try anyway! I had an item that was supposed to send a sound back to a HUD. One of my customers requested that she be able to turn the volume up or down. It took weeks of patient waiting on her part, but by the time I was done I had invented a HUD that could relay any sound, with no script or notecard changes on the user’s part. That extra work is now paying off at the rate of L$100 a copy!

When you first release a product, expect it to have some flaws that may not have been apparent to you. It’s nothing to worry about; your product can’t be all things to all people, at least until you hear from a dozen or more of them! And if you come up with a wowie-zowie upgrade, it’s a good idea to hand out free upgrades to people who have paid recently for previous versions, or at least offer steep discounts! After all, upgrade boxes are still a change to add your landmarks and/or freebies.

So in concluding, just remember that no product will ever be 100% perfect to everyone. However, if you pay attention to what your customers ask for (and possibly don’t want in upgrades), you will be able to enjoy long stretches of hassle-free sales. Good luck!
