<p>The study found that active women with normal weight had the lowest risk of developing heart disease. Those with normal weight, but inactive lifestyles, had slightly higher risk. Active women who were either overweight or obese had the next highest risk. Overweight or obese women who were inactive had the highest risk of heart disease.</p>
<p>According to the researchers, about 2 in 5 women in the United States at age 50 will eventually develop cardiovascular problems.</p>
<p>When one is overweight or obese, the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol is very much higher. Physical activity does make an impact and does counteract all these 3 medical conditions. <p>Daily activities such as climbing up stairs with shopping bags or cleaning a bathroom can also be included in the exercise tally. However, Inserm cautioned that what the amount of exercise recommended would have only a minor effect on people who are obese.</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s his simple exercise sequence to release neck tension :</p>
<p>*  lie flat on the floor and raise your knees so that your feet stand easily on a floor. Relax your jaw, breathe in, then very slowly let the breath out, saying HAAAAAAAAA like a long yawn.</p>
<p>*  Imagine there is an ink spot on your right shoulder blade and you are drawing a circle on the ground. Start small and gradually get larger. Let your arm and elbow naturally follow the movement. Now do the same with the left shoulder blade. repeat the movement.</p>
<p>*  Now imagine the ink blot is on the nose. This time you&#8217;re drawing circles on the ceiling. Move your nose very gently to draw the circles, getting wider and wider, then smaller again.</p>
<p>*  The ink blot is on your chin. Tip your chin towards the ceiling and start draing the circles.. Now it&#8217;s on your forehead. Lastly, the ink blot is onthe very top of your head and you are drawing circles on the wall behind you.</p>

Each of these movements gives a subtly different releasing action to he neck muscles. if you have a habitually tense neck then you will probably start the exercise too fast and in too jerky a fashion. Slow down and make your circles rhythmic.</p>

This is the finding of a recent study conducted by the University of California, San Diego and published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. The researchers believe that increased psychological stress and junk food eaten while watching TV could be the factors that lead to the rising blood pressure.</p>

The study found that obese children who watched 2 to 4 hours of TV each day were 2.5 times more likely than their peers who watched less TV to have high blood pressure, and kids who watched more than 4 hours daily had more than triple the risk of having high blood pressure.</p>
<p>There is no doubt that TV watching time clearly influences obesity, which can ultimately contribute to high blood pressure. In order to investigate this relationship, 546 children between 4 and 17 years old, who were seeking treatment for obesity, were evaluated. 43 per cent had high blood pressure.</p>
<p>Most of the study participants with high blood pressure watched 2 hours or more of television. The researchers also found that time spent watching television was also associated with the severity of obesity. While watching TV, kids may also be eating more fatty and salty foods that could directly contribute to high blood pressure.</p>
<p>In addition, children who watch more TV experience more perceived psychological stress. Evidence shows that stress can alter how the brain communicates with other organs, affecting blood pressure and body fat accumulation and distribution.</p>
<p>As such, it is essential to limit children&#8217;s TV viewing to less than 2 hours a day, which is also the recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics. This is even important for children who are overweight and obese.</p>
<p>Another issue that that blood pressure is often &#8216;not measured&#8217; in children. Even if it is measured, it is &#8216;often not done correctly&#8217;. Perhaps it is time for the parents of children to take up this issue with their child&#8217;s doctor.</p>

A total of 450 people who were older, less fit and at greater risk of heart disease than those who survived died during the study. Treadmill exercise was utilized to assess the physical fitness, while body mass index (BMI), waist circumference and percentage of body fat were used to measure obesity.</p>
<p>It is important to note that the researchers did not advocate that obesity and fat distribution should be ignored. They just wanted to alert people that they should look at other important things besides simple weight. Fitness is just one of them!</p>
