Fly fishing has always been one of my passions and I enjoy writing about it every day. I hope that I can help you foster a love for the sport here at WorldVillage.com and at my site FlyFishingGod.com . If you are just picking up fly fishing you have probably come across a scenario like this:

You arrive at a great looking spot and start tying on a good looking fly. After a few casts you start to see a hatch emerging. You then inspect the insect attempting to discover what imitation you might have in your trusty fly box. Trout are rising all around you now as you dig through your flies only to find that you do not have what is needed. You take something out that looks similar, tie it on and start casting. After several trout rise to your offering but refuse it you hook a mediocre sized fish. You continue to cast for about another hour moving up and downstream but to no avail. After a long morning of frustration you leave angry, determined to return next time with the proper equipment for the job at hand.

Now let’s look at the same situation but with proper planning for the hatch. You arrive to your spot about an hour before you expect your hatch to start. You observe the beginning of the hatch and pick out a perfect size 12 pale evening dun to offer the hungry masses. You start casting your dun early in the hatch and hook a few good fish. You then exercise your patience and allow the hatch to get into full swing. After moving up and down the river casting at rising brown trout you have released 20-25 fish and experienced the full fervor being adequately prepared for the hatch has can offer.

Preparing to meet and fish the hatch is the goal, if you are prepared you will catch fish. That’s the bottom line. Keep an eye on my articles here and at FlyFishingGod.com to prepare yourself for incredible fly fishing journeys.

Fly fishing is rather similar to fishing where in, the fishing rod is the most important thing. It’s interesting to know that the rods used in fly fishing are quite different from those used by the live bait fishing. These fly fishing rods are lighter, and much longer. In addition, the casting weight is provided by the combination of heavy lines which these fishing rods offer.

The Fishing Rods: Of noticeable length, these fly fishing rods are generally between 6 feet to 14 feet, however the material that is used in these rods varies. Several years ago these rods were made from some sort of bamboo but they are now made of mostly fiberglass and graphite. There are also experiments and research being done, with other materials like boron, with the intention of having the best materials for the fly fishing rods.

Choosing Fly Fishing Rods: There are several factors to be considered when you choose a fly fishing rod. In comparison to freshwater rods, saltwater rods are generally shorter. As the length is shorter, the fisher is able to combat the wind and the stream power more efficiently. These rods are also very lighter thereby not causing too much of pressure and burden on the fisher. For those that are interested in fishing in saltwater, opt for the ring types that come with saltwater rods.

Using Fishing Rods: It is important to note that no single fishing rod is better than the other. There are different situations in which you should use different fishing rods. You would also have to consider the casting strength and style of the person fishing, which creates practically endless preferred types of rods. The heavier rods are generally more durable as they do not break easily but would tire the fisher faster than the lighter ones. It is great if you can experiment with different types of fly fishing rods so that you understand which one fits your ability and style.

Fenwick fishing rods are extremely popular and have a long history behind them that provides them with an excellent reputation among fishermen, both professional and recreational. The company was named after the lake that the owners liked to fish on so much and was near their place of production. It is through the years that Fenwick fishing rods have made innovative changes that have made them one of the most popular fishing rods in the fishing industry.

The first Fenwick fishing rods were made from a lightweight fiberglass. The material was perfect for fly fishing. Later it was improved and became one of the most popular bass fishing rods that professionals would use in tournaments all over the United States. Based on the design from Phil Clock the Fenwick fishing rods would take over the fishing rod market and become extremely popular and trusted.

Later in the 1970′s period, the engineers for Fenwick fishing rods discovered granite. This material was even better suited for fishing rods. They would be the first ever to use granite to make fishing rods. Today, the Fenwick fishing rods are the most popular type of granite fishing rod that anyone can buy. Like in previous decades the Fenwick fishing rods have taken over the fishing rod market as fishermen from all around the world trust their product and love their designs.

Fishing is a very popular sport for many people all over the world. Today, both men and women enjoy many thrilling, yet relaxing, hours fishing. There is just something about the anticipation and excitement of waiting for a bite and then reeling in that fish. Yet at the same time, there is a tranquil peace on the water as you relax and completely forget all the troubles and stress of daily life. Having a travel fishing rod is a very important piece of equipment for those that like to vacation and enjoy fishing.

A good travel fishing rod will be compact but still be built from quality material. There are rods that are specifically made for travelling that offer the same features as other rods. One of the qualities that you will want to consider for your travel fishing rod is that there is a case to store the rod in when you are ready to go on your vacation.

You can often find a travel fishing rod that is easy to separate into smaller parts making it easier to store and to travel with. This enables you to fish with the larger rods that you are accustomed to without giving up quality or having a bulky rod for your vacation and travel needs. You can find these rods in sporting good stores and on the Internet. For more tips on fishing rods www.GotFishingRods.com.
