Cayenne Pepper Kills Cancer

Besides being a great medicinal herb for heart health and a great culinary spice, cayenne pepper has also been documented by none other than the American Association of Cancer Research as being an effective deterrent against cancer. Japanese medical researchers validated this study as well asserting that capsaicin, the active ingredient in cayenne, somehow kills androgen-independent prostate cancer cells within the male body.

In an article published in Reuters on March 16, 2006, entitled, “Hot Pepper Kills Prostate Cancer Cells in Study”, Dr. Soren Lehmann of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the UCLA School of Medicine asserts, “Capsaicin had a profound anti-proliferative effect on human prostate cancer cells in culture. It caused 80 percent of the prostate cancer cells growing in mice to commit suicide in a process known as apoptosis.” Furthermore, Japanese researchers discovered cayenne pepper can dramatically slow the development of prostate tumors.

While these studies may seem only applicable to males, cancer researchers say there is not that much difference in prostate cancer cells from other cancerous cells, therefore its applicability extends to all those who either want to avoid cancer or curtail it.

Cayenne pepper may be now scientifically proven to repel cancer cell proliferation, but its uses and health benefits are not one dimensional. In truth, its amazing curative powers are nigh unbelievable. If its anti-cancer capabilities weren’t enough, its effects upon the venous structure and heart are nothing short of miraculous. Cayenne is incredibly nourishing to the heart and according to herbalist and naturopathic doctors can immediately arrest a heart attack if the patient can ingest some cayenne.

Cayenne pepper is very hot to the taste but should be taken orally. It can be taken in capsule form, but its greatest benefits are taken by drinking it? Why drinking it? Because when taken orally in drink form, it has an immediate effect upon the heart and venous structure. Its proponents testify of a pleasant warm sensation cascading down their entire body, providing a delightful warmth.

So, how do you take it? Start by mixing 1/4th of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder in an eight ounce glass of purified and distilled water, mix it up thoroughly and drink it. When starting out, it may cause a slight gage reflex. If this happens, it’s because trying to drink too much. Start small and you should be fine. In time, you’ll move up to a full teaspoon, but again I recommend starting slow.

The truth is, it’s not as bad as you may think drinking this “cayenne pepper detoxification drink.” I promise. Start slow – your body is an amazingly adaptive organism and in just a few days, you won’t be as affected. The first few times you take it, it can come out of your eliminative organs with a slight burning sensation. Don’t be alarmed – this is perfectly normal. For most, after drinking it daily for a couple of days, their body has already adapted. Mine did.

In order to show its innocuous nature, an herbalist friend of mine once took a dime-sized amount and dropped it into his eye. It caused his eye to drip tears like he’d just won the lottery but it didn’t harm him at all. So, don’t worry, cayenne pepper is perfectly safe for you.

In closing, there has been a war on cancer for almost four decades with little progress made. While western medicine is a great boon to humankind, simple yet powerful alternative remedies are gaining greater popularity in the fight against ill health, cancer included. Cayenne is one of those herbs that can have a profound effect upon your health. This amazing herb not only strengthens your heart, but now it can help you fight cancer as well.
