You’ve purchased a gift for an upcoming baby shower, and you’ve wrapped it beautifully and tied it with a gorgeous bow. Then you realize that something is missing. You don’t have a card for the package to let the recipient know who the gift is from. You may look at the cards in a local store only to find that the few they offer are pretty much the same old, same old. You don’t want to buy her the same card that half the other guests may have already purchased for her, but you don’t know what other choices you have. If you’d like to find a more unique, personal card for the mommy-to-be, there are ways you can go about it.

For starters, you can do an online search for baby shower cards. You will find websites that offer you printable cards, such as americangreetings.com or bluemountain.com. These cards are really cute, you can add your own personalized message, and some of them are actually free. How great will it be to give the little mama a card with her own name emblazoned on the front of it? You won’t find any store cards personalized that way, so that alone will make your card truly unique.

If you’re into rubber stamping or would like to try it, you can buy a baby stamp and an inkpad and create your own card. Rubber stamping is easy and fun, and you can get the supplies you will need at any craft store. Even some discount stores carry a line of stamping items. You can look online to find tons of ideas about how to make your card. Stamp the design, color it in, cut it out, and glue it onto a card backing, and no one else will be giving the honoree a card anything like it. Anyone can learn to make their own cards, and you’ll be proud when you see what you’ve been able to accomplish.

Simpler is often better when it comes to greeting cards. After all, how often have you gotten a flowery greeting card and wondered why anyone would want to send something so mushy and ornate? Create a simple card keeping the interests of the mother in mind, and you’ll be designing your way right into her heart.
