Go Cart Tires
You have gotten your go cart almost completely built. One of the final stages of building go carts is to add the tires. Depending if the go carts will be on the road, off the road or a combination will determine what type of go cart tires is best for your situation.
When selecting go cart tires it is important to keep in mind how the tires are measured. This will make your purchase easier. If the letter X is used to separate two different groups of number on the tires the first group of numbers will be the diameter of the tires for the go carts. The second group of numbers will be the general width of the tires. Additionally, the last number of the entire sequence is the rim diameter.
If instead of the letter X separating the first groups of numbers the symbol is a backslash symbol the groups of numbers have different meanings. The first group of numbers is not the diameter of the tires but general width of the tires for the go carts. The next group of number is the section height for the tires. The last number of the sequence is the same for both labels and is the rim diameter.
A key factor in determining which size tires to use for go carts is to take your measurements when the tires are fully inflated. Full inflation will give you a more accurate reading. Typically the plan that you used to design and build your go carts will recommend a certain size, width and diameter for the tires to use on that particular model of go carts.
