There are many prescription medications that help with hair loss situations in men and women. To get these medications, you must visit your doctor for a physical to make sure the medications will work for you. There are many natural remedies that do virtually the same job as these prescription medications for hair loss. Hair Loss Center

Natural Remedies for Hair Loss

Herbal and nutritional remedies for hair loss can help to reduce and even reverse hair loss situations. To alleviate hair loss, you must get to the bottom of what is actually causing the loss. There are many causes of hair loss, which must be treated differently.

Below are some natural treatments that have been known to help with hair loss. As always, you should consult your doctor to see if taking any of these herbs would be okay for you. Just because they are natural treatments doesn’t mean that anyone can take them.

Medical science has shown that the cause of male pattern baldness is a hormone called dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT is a by-product of testosterone that shrinks and eventually kills hair follicles. The less DHT that reaches the follicles, the more hair you will have.

Prescription medications, such as Finasteride, work by inhibiting the production of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone to DHT.

Saw Palmetto

This herb stops DHT from binding to receptor sites at the hair follicles.

Nettle and Pygeum

The herb pygeum blocks 5-alpha-reductase and nettle enhances the effects of pygeum.

Zinc

Zinc cuts the activity of 5-alphs-reductase and helps stop DHT from getting to the hair follicles.

Green Tea

Green tea inhibits the production of 5-alpha-reductase. Drink 1-3 cups per day.

These are just a few herbs that are known to help with hair loss situations. With so many hair loss solutions, vitamins and programs available today, it is very hard to pick one that will work. Many doctors believe that any remedy that has not been approved by the FDA is a rip-off.

Probiotics also stopped my hair loss.

I used to shed a lot. Whenever I ran my fingers through my hair, they would end up full of strands – maybe 20-50(?). I had hair all over the house. I started a course of probiotics to treat diarreha and was surprised to find that these also dramatically affected hair loss. It took two months for me. I used Align.

The reason I noticed the connection to my hair is that initially, hair loss became worse. Much worse. I would find pencil-thick clumps in my hands each time I washed it. That lasted about two weeks, and scared the bejeezus out of me. Then, it reversed, and I saw less and less hair each time I washed it. Now, I find typically 2-5 strands from washing and NONE from just running my fingers through it during the day. My clothes no longer have hairs on them. It’s been about 4 months since the hair loss reversed, and so far it has not returned. (I do still take Align, though – I’m sort of afraid to stop.)

To any of you with sudden noticeable generalized thinning hair. There might be a solution after all. Originally, my hair was between medium to thick wavey hair since I’m from middle east. I’m a female around 44 years of age. It has been about 10 years that I’ve noticed I’m not getting as much compliments about my hair as I used to no matter if my hair was professionally styled or cut or coloured. My hair just doesn’t look as vibrant and healthy. I just never knew you can suddenly develop thinning hair. I thought you have to be born with it. And since thin hair is difficult to maintain and style, I had spent so much on just different professional products to make them look better and still unsatisfied. My hairloss had been so noticeable that my bathroom and clothes were alway full of fallen hairs. After a trip to a dermatologist I was told 2 years ago that I have developed thinning hair problem which could be a hereditary problem since I can see my mom’s scalp now due to her thinning hair. And, the chance that I had recieved this wonderful gift from my mom there was nothing I could do exept to try Rogain and live a less stressful life. After bulking up on Rogain..I have to say..no difference I saw. Untill I tried PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENTS capsules ( “All flora” by “new chapters” company ) and that was the end of it…I mean no hair loss maybe few hairloss aday and after shampooing 10-20 hairs max….I noticed results in less than 2 days. As I always run my fingers through my hair I was surprised how come I saw no hair coming out. day after day I saw no hairloss. I became curious and found the answer in googles. This is a miracle happened in my life. I still can’t believe it actually happened to me. After finding the real reason behind probiotic supplements and their wonderful benefits to our different organs, I found out probiotics help the absorbtion of protein and zinc in our digestive tract and those are what is necessary for hair follicles to grow thick hair and keep them from falling out. I took probiotics initially to just help increase my immune system and never knew this would have been the answere I had been searching for the past 10 years. And what wonders me is that no one of the physicians I went to ever mentioned the link between nutrition deficiency and our aging digestive tract. As we age our digestive tract is the first thing to age then our organs continue to deprive of nutrients and this is a very silent occurance. Probiotics enhance digestion and absorbtion of food. I used to take special supplements only for thickening hair and daily multivitamins and never knew that I had such poor absorbtion in my body despite feeling quite normal and healthy in general.

My thinning hair and hairloss problem is gone for good and hopefully yours will as well. Good luck and keep me posted how my suggestion helped you.
