The materials required for making soy candles are easily available in local shops or even on the internet. For making the candles, the following materials would be required: soy wax, Mason jar, fragrance oil, wax dye, and a cotton wick. Soy wax is available in flake or block form. Flake form can be used with ease. The fragrance oil should be compatible with soy wax. For 16 ounces of soy wax, you will require 1 fl ounce of fragrance oil. The thickness of the wick depends on the diameter of the soy candle. Bigger diameter of soy candle would require thicker wick.

Heat the soy wax in a pan on medium flame till the wax melts completely. Remove the pan from the flame and add the fragrance oil to the melted soy wax and stir till it has been completely absorbed by the soy wax. Now, pour this mixture in the Mason jar ensuring the wick is in the center. Once the wax solidifies, you can trim the wick.
