Sanding Hardwood Floors
Hardwood floors are a terrific flooring type for homes and offices. When you are ready to add a new coat of wax or even stain the floors a new color sanding hardwood floors can be a breeze. Follow a few simple tips to make sanding hardwood floors a much easier job for you.
The easiest and quickest method for sanding hardwood floors is to rent a buffer or sander. For hardwood floors that need to be completely stripped use a coarse sand paper on the buffer or sander. You can then follow up with a fine grade sand paper to finish off sanding hardwood floors. Be certain to keep an even pressure on the machine so that you do not get accidental pits or dips in the hardwood floors.
One of the primary reasons for sanding hardwood floors is to get them ready for a new coat of floor wax or to completely re-stain them. You will want to also rent a commercial vacuum that will remove all the fine dust from the hardwood floors once you have completed the sanding process. Leaving the fine dust on the hardwood floors will cause uneven staining and the dust will settle in any wax application put on the floors creating a huge mess.
When you are sanding hardwood floors do a small section at a time. This will enable you to only remove the amount of previous material that you want. You can also stop and vacuum the section and then lightly rub it with a clean, slightly damp cloth before moving to the next section. Sanding hardwood floors in sections will save you a great deal of clean up time and make the entire process much easier than trying to the entire floor at one time.
