Marble is very soft and prone to nicks, scratches and even small dents. It is important to polish marble floors to not only help protect them but to remove any damage that might have occurred in the soft stone.

There are many top quality marble floor polishing liquids that you can use on your flooring. It is worth the money and the protection of your floor to purchase a top quality polish to use. Most places recommend that a good polishing be done to the flooring on a weekly basis. You can rent a buffing machine or a floor polishing machine to help you with the job.

First you need to lightly dust the flooring to remove any loose debris. Next, go over the floor with a damp sponge mop or cloth mop to remove further dirt. Dry the floor with a soft rag. Apply the polishing liquid in small sections and buff with the electric machine. Repeat until the entire floor is completely polished. This will prolong the life of your floor and decrease the chances of further damages.
