All Dino, No Play

A Review of Lost Eden

Since the discovery of dinosaurs, man has asked himself the question "what would it have been like if man and dinosaurs walked the earth together?". Well this game answers that question...Dumb. At first it is an interesting idea, but in the end I am sure that they would end up just like our friends the whales. Either they would wind up being slaughtered for our various needs, or caged up in zoos to entertain us like Jurassic clowns.

Lost Eden is your classic "adventure type comes into play. After you rally the tribes together, it is time for you to go after the head "bad dino" Moorkus Rex. After a very anticlimactic ending, the credits roll.

I will admit that Lost Eden does have some beautiful 3D rendered graphics throughout the game, but after a while the cut scenes just get annoying. Also, the interface leaves very little for the gamer to do as far as options are concerned. Your control device is this spinning cube thing that does three basic moves: look, take/use, and direction. How utterly dull.

I like to think of myself as a very experienced gamer, but to finish this game in four hours without getting stumped once? Let me just say this, if you are a beginner to the adventure game genre, Lost Eden is an excellent "foot wetting" game. But for all of you other experienced gamers out there, save your cash for a more challenging quest, 'lest your funds become extinct!
