Buying an Xbox 360 Online – A Shopper’s Perspective
I’ve been a gamer for well over twenty years now, and a web user for around ten, so naturally, when I decided the time had come for a new games console, one of the first places I looked in order to find a bargain was the web. I checked out some price comparison sites, following a friend’s recommendation. I think I would question the independence of some of them though. I know from past experience of buying games consoles that certain reputable vendors can generally be relied upon to give you a good deal.
Among these is Amazon.com, who now sell many more things than books. They generally offer a significant price saving on high street stores. What’s more, when browsing on Amazon.com, I often buy from resellers, who frequently offer goods, new and used, at an even cheaper rate than the standard.
When considering buying an Xbox 360 online, I thought I was not likely to get great bargains for second-hand kit too soon, as it’s still relatively new. Furthermore I prefer new equipment anyway – that way you know no-one has tampered with it.
In the end, the online shop I bought the console from gave me a discount of around 30 percent on my local store. They didn’t charge me any postage and packing too, which I appreciated. The one problem I did have with buying an Xbox 360 online
The delivery might have been free, but it took over two weeks to arrive, during which time I was pacing about the apartment without anything to do. Somehow the old consoles just weren’t enticing – I wanted the Xbox 360. Once it finally arrived, I found it to be well packed and intact. However, I didn’t waste any time getting it out of the box. It’s been a life-transforming experience.
