As we approach our traditional Thanksgiving holiday season, Family Site of the Day is going to spend a few days looking at sites that reflect the spirit and meaning of this sacred day. Today we start where the original pilgrims did, at the start of their voyage in England.

Called America’s Homepage, this site looks at several aspects of Plymouth, Massachusetts, the home of the pilgrims that came over on the Mayflower. Here you can take a virtual tour of their village, find out about the food they ate, the Indians they met, and the life they led. There are resources available for finding out if you are related to any of these original settlers, as well as how life has changed over the past 400 years in this northeastern village.

This site is an interesting look at what I would consider the nuts and bolts of the Pilgrims, and is a valuable resource not only for cyber surfers, but for in person visitors as well. Enjoy your stop here today.
