She has a talent. With her young age, her rendition of “I am telling you I am not going” by Jennifer Holiday brought the crowd on its feet. As the competition wore off she made a huge base of admirers that led her to the title. Her sweet voice with country accent is held in a higher stature when we consider the fact that the girl is just 11 years old. Of course, the pristine performance in a TNT Christmas special with an audience headed by no-less than George Bush shows how far she have come from a humble country beginning.

With Bianca Ryan’s popularity, a new singer is seemingly matching here star power. Enter Charice Pempengco, as a 14 year old singer from the Philippines; this rare singing talent became famous from the most unusual of places – YouTube! The story goes like this… An avid Charice fan matched Charice Pempengco’s performance with Bianca Ryan’s performance of “I’m telling you I am not going” in a video battle in YouTube. Her singing talent picked popularity as millions came in and viewed her performance. The local Filipina attracted record companies, international TV shows and the almighty Ellen De Generes, which invited her to sing on her show. After her performance on the Ellen Show, Charice was greeted by a standing ovation and a virtual ticket to stardom.

These two singing sensations still have a lot of burn in their careers. With their age, their charms will shine more. But as they grow old, they will hopefully become the divas that they are projected to be. What we know is that they have a long way to go and a lot of record deals to pick up with a lot of questions to be answered. We also know that they have a lot of supporters hoping that they become the next big thing – an addition to the stable of divas that seem depleted in Hollywood these days. Dream or reality?
