DOGTREK 97-98
“Baby, it’s cold outside…”
Wherever you are this winter, it is most likely a bit on the chilly side. Where I am it is in the low 40’s (F). But compared to the Family Site of the Day, I am basking in the sunshine.
The site today is called DOGTREK 97-98, and is about a very unique and special dog sled trip. It is the world’s first 6000-mile dogsledding expedition to cross the North American continent in one long journey. The Expedition is being lead by Wendy Smith. The team set out on November 15th 1997 from Maine, USA. She is a cancer survivor, and hopes that this trip will both raise awareness that there is “life after cancer”, and help raise money for continued cancer research in both Europe and the United States.
