Grand Canyon National Park Foundation
To quote President Theodore Roosevelt, “In the Grand Canyon, Arizona has a natural wonder, which, so far as I know, is in kind absolutely unparalleled throughout the rest of the world.” This natural wonder is the subject of today’s Famsite.
The Grand Canyon National Park Foundation is a private, non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping the National Park Service meet the expectations of the over 5 million visitors, while helping to protect the natural resources. It is increasingly difficult to do in the wake of recent budget cuts. They do this through a series of long and short-term projects that are helping pick up the slack when the federal dollars fall short.
This is an excellent site, since it showcases one of our nation’s most valuable resources. But it also shows how, as citizens, we can become involved in helping make this a better place to live. It is not only our right to become so involved, it is our responsibility. Enjoy this site.
