Illusion & Delusion: The Watergate Decade

The 1970’s were a decade of change. After the 60’s it was a time to cool down, get it together and get moving on again. But a little event changed history forever, and still has a major impact on how our government is run, and how the media covers it.

The incident is called Watergate, and refers to a break-in at the offices of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. The events of this action have chronicled in reams and reams of paper, but are now captured in a different media in today’s site. Called Illusion and Delusion: The Watergate Decade, it tells not only the story of the event, but also chronicles the background events it was set against. Among them are Roe v. Wade, completion of the Sears Tower in Chicago, and the passing of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

This was a truly extraordinary time to live through, as those of us that did can attest to. For those that didn’t it is a testament that no one man can put himself above the law, for whatever reason. It is a lesson that needs to be repeated every so often, lest we forget.
