Jessica the Pet Hippo

In Africa, hippos are BAD NEWS.
Hippopotami have killed more humans than lions, crocodiles, or any other mammals (although the tiny mosquito continues to be the most prolific killer).
But Jessica will show you that not all hippos are aggressive. In fact, you will probably fall in love with the gentle creature that was discovered by a South African game warden washed up after a bad storm when she was only a day old.
She became a regular fixture at the game warden’s home. And today’s FamilyFirst pick is a short movie telling her story.

Watch in amazement as gentle Jessica (who comes and goes as she pleases, living on a river) begs for snacks, opens a door and wanders into the house, then proceeds straight to the kitchen, which, she knows, is the only room in the house where she is welcome.
Fearless crocodile hunter Steve Irwin was terrified of hippos because of their aggressive nature.
He would have been amazed seeing Jessica receiving her nightly back rub before going to sleep in her comfy bed at her South African home.
