Kids and Communities
As our children grow up, they ask a lot of questions. Questions like, why is the sky blue, or where does air come from? As they mature, so do their questions. Mine have started asking me about our government, and other civic-minded questions. Websites such as today’s FamSite can help answer some of those more mature questions our kids may ask.
It is called Kids and Communities, and is a look at how our cities are planned. It is designed to help young cyber visitors to understand the process that goes into deciding where parks go, and how streets are designed. It is done is a very entertaining way, with areas that tell about how some towns were named, as well as some interesting games, such as Word Town (where you paint a picture of you town in words), and a scavenger hunt that is designed to help one explore what makes up a community.
