Mama’s Page

At work this past week, it was discovered that one of our fellow employees was pregnant with his first child, or rather, his wife was in the family way. It got me thinking about how much raising children has changed since our first one was born 12 years ago. Back then, life seemed so much simpler. But as technology changed, so did the amount of information that was available. The Internet has been a major contributor to the explosion in material that is now there for, well, anyone.

Today’s site is one that I emailed my fellow employee. It is their first child, and they are on a vertical learning curve about becoming parents. This site, called Mama’s Page, is for expectant mothers (and I suppose fathers as well), and covers such topics as birthing methods, breast feeding, what you do with a new born after you bring it home (such as shots, vitamins, types of clothing, etc.). It is well presented, and contains well researched links to supplement the material. As a father 3 times over, I can relate to this page, and how helpful this information can be helpful to expectant parents.

Having a child is a major step in life. It is will be one of the high points and most well remembered moments a parent will ever have. Enjoy that time, and prepare well for it. This site can help. Enjoy your stop.
