Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood
One of the most popular shows to ever hit the airwaves was about a neighborhood. While you may not have seen the show yourself, you have surely heard the theme song, the one that goes “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…”. This neighborhood is a little sad today, as today’s FamSite will explain.
The site is called Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, and it the online prescence of Fred Rogers, a Presbyterian minister who received as his ministerial charge to continue his work with children and families through television. He did so for over 40 years, creating a wonderful and safe neigborhood where children would be safe and never be afraid. Mr. Rogers passed away yesterday after a short illness. But his work will live on, both on television and on the internet. This site shows the love and care that he put into his ministry, and how successful it truly was, and continues to be.
So stop by, and enjoy some time with a truly wonderful creator and human being. You will find the visit very plesant and time well spent.
