National Attention Deficit Disorder Association
One of the most common problems in school classrooms these days is a disruptive student. It is hard to hold lessons and have students learn when someone is yelling and walking around and disrupting the environment. A common source of this problem is a child who has ADD, or Attention Deficit Disorder.
Today’s Family First site is focused on the National ADD Association. Their organizational mission is built around the needs of adults and young adults with ADD and ADHD. They also serve individuals with ADD, as well as those who love, live with, teach, counsel, and treat those who do. Here you will find resources, online help and referrals, all of which can be a great help if you or someone you know is affected by this disease.
My son has ADD. This site has been a blessing when my wife and I look for information on the reasons that he has been acting the way he has been lately. It is very difficult living with someone who has this, as medicine alone is not the answer. The resources here are very helpful.
sorry i do disagree with using drugs for people who seem to havve a short attensions spand could it be possible they are simply boored with the thing others are making them learn with out knowing that the children are hyperactive in the first place . Why can not people who are hyperactive be undrestood instead of drugging them up with leagal or illegal substances in order to controle them how would you like this to be done to children what seem to bright an ending up using drugs because others do not understand that there parents have to much money or because they come from a disfunclanal family whay not start labeling people like cans on the shelf. I dare to say this because i have been through that kind of stuff all my life and others think drugs legal, illegal/ shrinks all have a purpose to controll others to make them a ginnipeg and lessen to athers in order to fit in the right circles and i personall do not have a great schooling and i thank others for making me this way this way i am not a slave to the schooling system that all know/ Like religion and the bible how can one say it is true when people swear on it when they go to court? and to go to school and haaaaaaaave a bill to pay and vbecome a slave to the education or become a another lable just because they do not conform to the rules Man kind makes becuse some said that was they way? how about the caaaards why do people mneed to have all the plastic with all the information when the parents gave birth to them in the first place did all the people that have thaat information give birth to other peoples children> Maby one should lable other peoples children as there own this way they would have to get the others to pay when a child is out of controol or clamed as hytperactive? how would they like this ? I know I do not clame to haave mpore then I had and I know who my children weere when i haad them and i relise that socity blames people arround the word when people get out of the orderanrys and do not fit into a spicific catigory and that is a main problem in this world. others always get labled just because they are not understood, or different this is a kind of perjustice i have lived through and seem in other people as well as with my own childern. whould you like this being done to you, or even betteer yet to scared to work because others just want one to wwwwork hard and then they do not have to pay like a mother dose when trying to reais heer childern then get paid through sergury when it really is not needed but through trust of doctors who aare suppose to be honest to do the right thig , instead they causse more bills and harm just becausse a parent is single and on welfaare ? or because the7y haave lots of money or insurance and it pays to operate on them instead of saving lives they take life one piece at a time and cuasing maor health care costs/ presuriptionsjust to make useless jobe when there are better ways to make jobe like helping keep the eatrth a better placce for all to live or even picking garbage off the streets . all should know how to do this with out pay. aat least this would be helping keep our world clean as well as people who do not have the rresorces to do what others do. the news paper would be a good place to reply if this can be answered with out lableing me as crazy. as others think i am and this i do not really care for i know i am crazy in living in a worl that holds life last and not first.
