Neuroscience for Kids

Todays FamilyFirst site would be impossible for you to appreciate if you didnt possess the subject it is dedicated to:
The brain!
The site is called Neuroscience for Kids. Believe me, its not just for kids, though. Their is some serious scientific knowledge here for anyone interested in exercising that muscle between their ears.
However, since the site IS aimed at kids, that means that the knowledge here is presented in a fun format!
So what can you learn here?
Well, lets start with the nervous system. The questions/answers section covers info like what exactly is a neuron, anyhow? How many neurons does the brain have? How long is a neuron? (would you believe some are THREE FEET LONG?) How fast does information travel through the neural network?
Thats just ONE section of this knowledge-loaded site. Kids are given info on various jobs available in the neuroscience field, and suggestions for how to pursue the various career paths.
They can also sign up for the Neuroscience for Kids newsletter.
So have fun at todays FamilyFirst site, no matter how big a kid you are. And stretch that brain muscle!
