Planet Tokyo

Travel can be very broadening. The experiences that can be gained by seeing how other cultures live and eat can help one understand the planet on which we live. With the Internet, it becomes easier (and cheaper) to travel to the far corners of the world.

Today’s FamSite is called Planet Tokyo, and is about the capital city of Japan. Here is a site that explains, in simple English, the ins and outs of Japanese society. The customs of eating, sleeping, how to plan your trip. Everything from shopping to what to wear, what to eat (and what it is you are eating) is explained here. Other travelers also share their experiences with you, which can be helpful.

So if you know someone who is going to Japan, direct him or her to this site. It is very complete, and extremely informative, especially for the armchair traveler.
