In what is becoming a regular occurrence, today’s FamilyFirst pick is the result of research I did for my own I Remember JFK website.
I wrote a piece on jelly jar glasses we had in the 60’s and 70’s, and among the sites I used for information was that of the Promotional Glass Collectors Association.
The fact is that commemorative glasses have long been a very effective tool in getting people to buy things. Everybody loves them. And they make for very affordable collectibles. You can buy vintage Welch’s glasses from the 50’s for less than twenty bucks.
The folks who collect glasses are passionate about them. That’s why the Promotional Glass Collectors Association was formed.

Do you remember seeing a cool glass with a cartoon character on it while you were growing up? Check out their database that has over 10,000 glasses cataloged. You may well find a nice image of the glass, with details about its release.
