The Great American Web Site

Back in the good old days, when our forefathers were building and creating this great country, I am sure they never envisioned the labyrinth of government regulations, bureaus, and agencies that exists today. Their vision was one of a simple, citizen-led and citizen-involved form of government that allowed American’s the most freedom of any country at that time. But if they came back today, would they be surprised.

The size of our government is large, and still growing daily. To navigate all the agencies, organizations, and levels of the three branches would require mountains of books and paperwork. The web site featured today can help ease this confusion of our government, and even make some sense out of it. It is called The Great American Web Site, and is an online clearing house for information on our Federal government. For example, at this site, a visitor can: visit the Smithsonian Institute and Library of Congress; learn about Veterans affairs; get forms from the (shudder) IRS; and get census information from the Census Bureau. There is an Internet Guide to the US Government, with a focus on the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches, as well as the Executive departments and independent agencies such as the Post Office and the CIA.

If you are looking for specific information on a certain agency, or information on our federal government, this is the place to start. If it doesn’t have the information you want or need, then it will have the link to get you there. A wonderful stop on the net that is sure to be an enjoyment to all who visit.
