The HP Calculator Museum

Back when I was in high school, the tool for all the math geeks was the slide rule (affectionately known as a “slip-stick”). But as I graduated from school, a new device appeared on the horizon. A little box with keys on it, with numbers, that could add, subtract, divide, multiply, and even do percentages! And all for $199.99. It was called a calculator. Over the years the jobs these little things could do have increased over a thousand fold, and yet their size hasn’t changed all that much.

Today’s Family Site is a visit to the Museum of HP Calculators. Here you can see the entire product line of the what Hewlett-Packard has offered to students, businessmen, and scientists over the years. This is not only trip down memory lane, but a educational look at how the world of electronics has changed how we live. There are complete histories on each one, with pictures and details and options. There is also information that allows you to incorporate these old calculators on your current PC, as well as links to other sites that will allow you to talk and correspond with other users.

This is a great reference site. I used several HP devices over the years, and still have a fond place in my heart (and college transcript) for them. Enjoy your stop here.
