The Storm

One of the hit movies this summer will involve a ship, and how it comes to sink in the Atlantic Ocean. Before you think it is Titanic: The Sequel let me assure you it isn’t. The film is about a fishing boat that sank with all hands on board, and is based on a true incident. Today’s FamSite visits a website that looks the true events that film is based on, and the real star of that movie.

The site is called The Storm. It is a site dedicated to a storm that developed in the Atlantic Ocean in October 1991. That storm, because of all the factors that were involved during its creation and existence was known as the perfect storm (also the title of the soon-to-be hit movie). At this site you can explore not only what happened to the Andrea Gail, but the other ships that were at sea during that time. You can also learn about other storms, create your own storm, catch up on the latest storm news, and find out how high technology today keeps track of those storms.
