The average American is not very average. Every one of us has something unique and special that sets us apart from everyone else. Take today’s FamSite. It is uploaded twice weekly from the seat of a motorcycle.
Called True America, it is a site that seeks to explore what makes our country tick. It is a 19-month writing tour of the country that is literally prepared from a motorcycle. Mark Gilchrist is spending the summers and winters of 1998 and 1999 finding out about the average citizen, what are their joys and pains, their challenges and achievements. In the current one you can read about the giant ball that drops in Times Square on New Years’ Eve, and the preparations that go into it. Find out about the invention of the hamburger, or a hospice that is not a place to die, but to live.
