When I was in the Navy, going to school at Treasure Island, California, I spent some time in the Petty Officer’s Club. It was a great place to do what sailors do best when they are off duty. That I will leave to your imagination. But one thing we did was listen to the jukebox, which was filled with country and western music. One song and one artist had a major impact on me, one that lasts to this day, and is the subject of our Family Site of the Day.
The song was “Delta Dawn”, and the singer was Tanya Tucker. She was a few years younger than I was, but her voice sounded much, much better. She made a major impact on the country music scene, both because of her age, and the quality of her music. i would first love to say happy holidays tanya and family…i started your book this month and enjoying every minute of it ..i dont know if you would remember me i seen u at the puallup fair in washinghton this summere i was on the floor with the cow print vest and black cowboy hat on iwas the only one in the audience who standed the whole time singing and dancing to every song..tanya i grew up to your music ..my mom had eveyone of your albums ..your life is a mirror to mine iam 34 years old and a recovering addict and alcholic and i can relate to everything u went through ..you are my idiol tanya ..i took pics at the puallup fair concert but unfortunatly only one turned out …please let me know if you are coming again and when i traveled 4 hours away to see you ..and believe me ill do it again ….yor worth it girl….

I have been a fan of Tanya’s for many years. I also have all of her albums. When tuckerville came on the learning channel that really excited me. I enjoyed seeing Tanya, Presley, Grayson and Layla, doing things that came natural to them. admire. I also would like to say that I am proud to have grandparents that knew your parents. your dad worked for My grandpa, Cowboy Chumley drilling water wells in Texas when you were a baby. My grandma use to watched you from time to time. I herd great things about your dad from my parents. I did not know my grandpa because he was killed at work drilling wells. I have been told that you wish to move to a place of calm. Listed on the National Register Of Historic Places and two hours from Nashville is “Amberg Heights”.
It sits high on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River which has been a constant source of inspiration and sollice for me. With spectacular sunsets.
This historic area has the nicest people who respect ones privacy.
I have to give up my home because I now live on a disability income.
This area is one of the healthiest places to live and the home is extreamly welcoming, these are comments I receive.
You too are a National Treasure with great passion and would benefit greatly from time living at “Amberg Heights”
You can feel the history just by walking into the front sitting room. This home has given back to ten fold, and all feel “it” It truely is a special place.

I have been a big fan of Tanya Tucker since Delta Dawn came out I was still in high school I am 68 years old now and she is still the best singer there is today.
I can remember my mom playing Tanya’s music as I was growing up and we are only 10 years difference in age. She set the foundatiom for me! This brings me to a recent comcert Tanya played @ The Mohawk Casino in Hogansburg, NY. She sang happy birthday to my loving and beautiful mother about to turn 72! But she did more than that….you see my mom has Cancer and fighting hard and that evening I was supposed to go with her but my father was sent to hospital for bleesing in his brain. I convinced her to go to the concert and enjoy, that I would take care of father. So you made a very memorable night for her to never forget! Greatest present ever at the most perfect time! You allowed my cousin to take a video and i greatly appreciate that…..
