80’s Music Central

Wow. What a great decade the 80’s was. Why didn’t we recognize it at the time?
VH1 has made a lot of money with their I Love the 80’s series. They certainly don’t need any help from me. However, I did want to pay homage to this wild and crazy decade, particularly its music.
So, I stumbled onto today’s FamilyFirst site: 80’s Music Central.
This dude is obsessed with 80’s music! And his well-done site reflects his obsession.
Read interviews with some of the movers and shakers of 80’s music. See what’s up with 80’s musical legends in the News section.

Pop into Your Place, and get the goods on legends who have recently passed from the scene. Send your question to Ask An 80’s Nut. Get the lowdown on who is playing 80’s music on the radio in your area, as well as on the internet.
The webmaster has also written reviews of many albums, and he seems to know his stuff. Read them and judge for yourself.
And don’t miss Rantings Of An 80’s Nut. It’s in blog format, and there you will find lots of ramblings from an 80’s survivor that you might well be able to relate to, especially if you have recollections of that great decade yourself.
So enjoy today’s FamilyFirst site, and make sure you have plenty of tokens to play Galaga!

The art of the insult has been largely lost. Once upon a time, a well-placed insult was a social grace. The insultee felt honored at receiving such a barb. Example: an angry woman once told Sir Winston Churchill “If you were my husband, I’d give you poison!” Churchill’s reply: “If you were my wife, I’d…

The world was sort of shocked by a massive generation of new ones shortly after World War II ended. Withing a few years, kids were running all over the place! They were known as Baby Boomers. Well, some time has passed since then. Today, Boomers are entering their golden years. And it’s having a profound…

Open source software. Many, mainly those who create and sell proprietary commercial software, would have you believe that you just don’t get as high quality an offering in software or operating systems when you use open source stuff. Hmm, let’s examine this for a moment. FOSS (free open source software) is a decidedly non-profit venture….

  1. Thank you for the kind words about the site. “Obsessed” is a good word, right? hahaha But then again, it’s always about getting the information to the masses. Glad you enjoyed. We also launched our live podcast, Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy, at the end of 2006.
