A History of Apple Computers

In the deep, dark ages of computers, before the Silicon Valley and Silicon Forest, there was the Silicon Garage. The first real home computer was created by a couple of guys in their garage, and the rest is, as they say, history. These guys and their computer are the subject of today’s site.

The site, A History of Apple Computer, is a visit with the company and the machines that started the revolution that continues to this day. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak are the two guys that gambled it all on a little box that by today’s standards is inferior to a simple pocket calculator. At this site a visitor can explore the peaks and valleys of the company, from the Apple I to the latest PowerBook’s and Power PC’s. In between, there is the Lisa, the Apple III, the Quadra’s and all sorts of Macintoshes. This is THE site for Apple trivia, as well a journey through the peaks and valleys of the first major home computer company.

Recent events have shown that Apple, although no longer a major player in the home computer market still has some life in it. The relationship with Microsoft and the release of OS 8 show there is still a core of dedicated users that realize the potential of these computers. It is through their efforts that their day of becoming an orphaned computer is still a long way off.
