Abraham Lincoln Online

Somehow, I missed the birthday of one of our greatest Presidents, Abraham Lincoln. It was February 12th, and I spaced it out. But it has been overshadowed recently by the celebration of President’s Day. I can remember growing up when it was a holiday for both Lincoln AND Washington’s Birthdays.

Today’s FamSite is called Abraham Lincoln Online, and it is a very well maintained and complete site with just about everything you would want to know about the 16th President of the United States. Here you can visit his home in Springfield, his law offices, look at his great speeches, find some good books for expanded study. There are related links to all aspects of his life, including his family, his biographers (most notably Carl Sandburg), and the plot that ended his life.

This is a great site to visit for anyone who has an interest in not only President Lincoln, but also the period of time in which he lived. Those results of those events are still with us today.
