All Aboard the SPS 700

Gone are the days of steam locomotives and luxury dining cars, of whistles in the night signaling the arrival of stores and the mail. It is an era gonebye, never to be seen again. Well, almost. Today’s FamSite visits a site that shows that the trains of yesteryear are still around, if you know where to find them.

Called All Aboard the SPS 700, it is a site that tells the history of the Spokane, Portland, Seattle Railroad, and the historical society that is preserving its memory. It tells of the restoration of the engine, pictures of it in use, details on the history of the surviving engine and the SPS Railroad, as well as other tidbits that will interest everyone who visits the site.
