Austin Cyber Limits

One of the longest running programs on PBS is one that features a wide range of performers from all styles of music. Well, not every style of music, but enough to have helped ensure its survival for over 20 years. The name of the program is Austin City Limits, and this is their website.

Called Austin Cyber Limits, it is a collection of everything that has made the show so popular. You can visit a section that will take to each and every broadcast, featuring a hypertexted mini-review of that show, as well as set lists for that particular evening. There are real audio clips of special performances, as well as games and trivia. A schedule for the coming years is here for your viewing pleasure, as well as an online store and a section of other cyberspace links.

This is a marvelous show, one I have watched many times. Don’t think it is solely about country and western music alone. Featured performers included the Indigo Girls, Mary Chapin Carpenter, BR549, The Robert Cray Band, Riders in the Sky, Buddy Guy and Jimmy Buffett, among others. This is potpourri of our music that is both contemporary and nostalgic at the same time. An excellent site to visit.
