In the War of 1812, the British invaded the U.S. In the 1960’s, there was another British invasion of a different sort, brought on by the Beatles. Now, it looks like there will be another one, of sorts.
Called BBC America, this is the online site of the British Broadcasting Corporation, the national news service of Great Britain, affectionately known as the “Beeb”. Here you can find out about the programming they will be offering on our side of the Atlantic. You can meet the personalities, find out the types of shows, and even take a peek at what is being shown in Great Britain.
This site goes to show that this is truly a shrinking world. Now you can catch what other countries think about the happenings in ours, as well as getting a local, you are there perspective of life in a foreign country. Enjoy your stop here.
I just found out that a DVD of the Box of Delights has been issued in the UK, and I want to see if I can purchase it here in the US. It wouldn’t be Christmas for my daughter, now 24, and me without watching the copy we taped years ago. I would like to see if I can buy two copies. It is eighth in the BBC Top Ten DVDs.

1. Please get rid of the stupid commercials during your wonderful shows!! We were watching Prime Suspect when a flipping ad for Footballers Wives appeared on the screen. We are so grouchy about it that we will NEVER watch that new show. Run the dumb ads during other ads not during the dramas!! It is offensive.
