Cyber Latin

In church the other day, the post sermon discussion during the fellowship time somehow turned to a discussion of Latin, the origins of our English language, and how much it is still in our everyday life. The discussion headed towards just how many languages it was the basis for, and how many had it influenced. No consensus was reached.

Then, unexpectedly, I find out about today’s website, Cyber Latin. Who says that Latin is one of the dead languages. Taking a look at this site will convince even the most casual observer that a study of this language will not only improve the verbal skills of most people, but it will instill an appreciation for how imperfect our language is at communicating ideas and concepts. At this site, one can get study aids for classroom use in a self-EXE format, self-correcting quizzes, and access to an on-line association of classicists called ROME REBORN. All the topics covered here will help to have an influence on the understanding on of this great language.
