DontShootMyBrother.com
Today’s FamSite is one with a very serious message. I won’t try to give it a funny lead in line, or a snappy opening. I will just quote from the site itself, because their words get the point across better than I ever could.
The site is called DontShootMyBrother.com, a site that is dedicated to the education and prevention of youth violence.
Everyday we are all caught in a losing battle, the challenge of our society to preserve safety for our children and protect them from violence and guns. The facts are that violence is everywhere; it is impossible to ignore them:
ALMOST AS MANY TEENAGE BOYS DIE FROM GUNFIRE THAN DIE FROM CAR ACCIDENTS
4 TIMES AS MANY AFRICAN AMERICAN KIDS (10-24) DIE FROM FIREARM DEATH THAN FROM CAR ACCIDENTS.
It even seems as though no one recognized this as his or her problem or responsibility. The truth is our deteriorating sense of community is everyone’s problem. DONT SHOOT MY BROTHER is a campaign geared to raising awareness and striving to make a difference in bringing peace to the streets.
This site contains links to agencies and other organizations that are helping to bring down the violence in our society. Let’s work together, so there will be a tomorrow for our children. Enjoy your visit here today, and share the message with a friend.
