ePals Classroom Exchange
The Internet has succeeded in making the world a smaller place to live. In the past few years, it has redefined communication to a level that was unheard of only a decade ago. With the increase in communication, it is now possible to write and talk to people who are on the other side of the world as if they were right next to you.
Today’s FamSite is one that helps to show how the Internet can bring together cultures from all around the world so they can learn about one another. Called ePals, it is an opportunity for teachers and classrooms to freely meet and correspond via the Internet. Only a scant two years old, there are already 6800 classrooms and schools in over 80 countries, using 67 languages signed up, and it is increasing at about 600 classes a month. It provides an excellent platform to exchanging cultural ideas, school projects, history, science, or just make a friend.
If you are interested in participating, the information is located on the site for you to do so. Please pass this on to your favorite student or teacher, and then have some fun learning about and meeting people from other countries. It is the Internet at it’s best.
