Pyramids: The Inside Story
Halloween, which has just passed just a short month ago, brought back memories of old time movie monsters. There was Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, Dracula, the Invisible Man and the Mummy. The last character was interesting, because of the contemporary interest in Egypt and the tombs of the Pharaohs at about the same time as the films were being made. Which brings me to todays Family Site.
It is called Pyramids: The Inside Story, and is a web site based on the PBS television series about the Great Pyramids of Giza, and our old friend the Sphinx. At this site, it is possible for the visitor to learn the history of these wonders of human engineering, which serves as an everlasting monument to the genius of the ancient civilizations. Or does it? Because here you will also learn how the current day environment is destroying these treasures. You can observe the restoration the Mr. Sphinx is undergoing, as well as take a virtual tour through the insides of the pyramids.
