Growing up one of the most exciting times was going shopping with my mom. It usually meant a stop at the candy counter at the Woolworth’s 5 & 10 store. But it usually meant a trip to the local toy store as well. But times change. Woolworth stores are a thing of the past. But going to a toy store is still possible, even in the Internet age.
Today’s Family Site is called eToys, and is a place in cyber space where a child (or a grown-up) can look and explore all sorts of wonderful toys. There is plush Arthur dolls, Glow in the Dark stickers, and Little Tykes workbenches. Every toy that is on display here can be purchased, and delivered right to your own doorstep. But this is more than just a place to buy toys. There are links to leading magazines, where these items are rated and reviewed. Parenting Magazine, Child Magazine, and PC Family Computing are just a few of them. Toys can also be browsed by category (stuffed toys, dolls, action figures, etc.) or by child development (age appropriate vs. subject).
For an interesting site that will bring out the child in you, try the eToys web site. It is a fun place to visit, and as the Holiday Season approaches, it is sure to be a busy one. So take my advice (actually my aunt’s), which is to “shop early, shop often”.
