In life, you can see competition anywhere. You work hard for your family because you want to give them their needs and that is competing for survival. You compete for promotion and raise that’s why to really work hard and perform. In the world of business, competitions are considered healthy because customers have the power to choose and each company has to come up with something innovative so they can outlast the competition.

Your kids are subjected to competition every day and in a way contests can give them valuable lessons in life. Contests will motivate your kids. Because they want to have big grades, they study hard. They want to get bigger grades than their classmates. They want to come out first of the pack. Of course as a parent, you have to support them in their endeavor and you have to give them the things that they need to achieve their goals.

In case they fail in the contest, it is perfectly alright. Contests teach them to be humble winner and not become a sore loser. As a parent, you have to guide them in coping up with failure. You can tell them that they only lost one contest. There are still many contests ahead of them and they can win the next contest when they work hard and really do their best. Win or lose, children are taught many lessons in life that they can use at home, in school or in their everyday life.
