Internet Space Station

Growing up when I did, the stars and the planets were viewed with awe and majesty. They were untouchable, and no one had even gone into space, let alone even land on another one. Here it is scant thirty-some years later, and we are making plans on a permanent space station and a manned voyage to Mars. Space travel has indeed come a long way.

Today’s FamSite looks at a site that helps to educate young students from grades K to 6th about what space is and how it is being explored. Called the Internet Space Station, it is as close as one can come to visiting space without being there. Here visitors can plan a mission to another planet, or take a tour of the solar system. You can find out what it takes to be an astronaut and how they train. You can explore the stars and planets, and the comets and asteroids. You can take a solar system scavenger hunt, a space trivia quiz, and solve some space oriented puzzles.

So climb onboard, strap yourself in, and get ready for the countdown. You will be blasting off to a great site when you stop here. Be sure to share this site with another astronaut, they will be glad you did.
