Using it safely will save you money as e-commerce expands, and can prevent your young children seeing content that you would they rather not see. Today’s FamSite is one that explores safe use of cyberspace, one that is quite informative.
The site is called Katherine Tarbox Home. It is the online site for the author of the book Katie.com. This book relates her experiences on just how dangerous the Internet can be, and how important it is for parents and guardians communicate this to their children. At this site you can read a couple of chapters of her book, find some extremely useful sites that promote safe internet surfing, and read some revealing reviews and articles that really bring her message home.
This is an important site to read, and digest the information carefully. As the Internet expands many times over, and the information highway replaces the interstate highway as a source of communication and commerce, we should all be forewarned about the dangers that can lurk out there.
I applaud Katie Tarbox for writing her book and warning others — but it’s sad that she and her publisher are trampling over another Katie, a woman who owned the website Katie.com and used it for her business. Why couldn’t Katie T and her publisher have used her actual website, katieT.com ? Or, since Katie didn’t have a domain name at the time of this incident — she was using AOL to chat — couldn’t they have expended a teensy bit of effort to come up with a different name?
GOHD, i think this book is GREATit teaches an awesome lesson and deserves many medals.me and my friend have all read this book and we are only 12 and in 7th grade we think this book is great and all teens should learn from this book a great deal of information!
