National Attention Defecit Disorder
One of the most common problems in school classrooms these days is a disruptive student. It is hard to hold lessons and have students learn when someone is yelling and walking around and disrupting the environment. A common source of this problem is a child who has ADD, or Attention Deficit Disorder.
Today’s FamSite is focused on the National ADD Association. Their organizational mission is built around the needs of adults and young adults with ADD and ADHD. They also serve individuals with ADD, as well as those who love, live with, teach, counsel, and treat those who do. Here you will find resources, online help and referrals, all of which can be a great help if you or someone you know is affected by this disease.
My son has ADD. This site has been a blessing when my wife and I look for information on the reasons that he has been acting the way he has been lately. It is very difficult living with someone who has this, as medicine alone is not the answer. The resources here are very helpful.

My son is 7, and he hasn’t been diagnosed for ADD or ADHD but his behavior makes us question if we should have him evaluated. At shcool he gets in trouble constantly. He talks out of turn, he crawls and wiggles around on the floor when his teacher has them in group. He doesn’t follow directions, when he has work assignments he will stare into space, talk or play and sometimes he doesn’t finish the work. Is this just normal 6 yr old behavior, Please help!!!
I was digagnosed with ADD in the fifth grade. I have been dealing with the brain problems for elevin years, and there are still things that go on that I don’t know why I do or say certin things.
We have a son with ADD (13 years old) and a son with ADHD (10 years old). Both are on medication and it has made a tremendous positive difference in their lives at home and school. They are able to function in the classrooms and school, succeeding in their classes.
