Tex Avery at MGM (1942-1955)

I have found myself recently spending time watching the Cartoon Network on the television. It seems there are more and more classic cartoons being shown all the time. Or maybe they are now at a time that I can watch them. Who knows? But I find myself enjoy the MGM shorts of the late 1940’s/early 1950’s, both for the artwork and the story line. That is why I was glad to find today’s FamSite.

It is called Tex Avery at MGM (1942-1955), and is a web site that is designed to tell the history of one of the most successful cartoonists of all time. Here you will meet Droopy, Spike, Slap Happy Lion, and George and Junior. There is an excellent filmography and biography, as well as excellent character reviews and links. This fan-created and maintained site is an excellent one that treats the subject matter with respect.
